Curious by Nature
Strategist by Trade

I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life
When I was in kindergarten, I wanted to be a Walmart greeter. Mainly for the unlimited smiley face stickers. In grade school, it was an animal groomer. I loved dogs and my bedroom was even dog-themed, despite never actually owning one. In junior high, I thought it would be cool to be an actress… as depicted by a drawing I submitted to an art contest with the brief "design a stamp based on what you want to be when you grow up." (I won a scooter.) In high school, I thought maybe a police officer? Or a lawyer? A kinesiologist? An engineer?… I still wasn’t sure, so I decided to go to business school. In university, I was convinced I wanted to be a CPA.
Looking back at that list of potential careers, the pattern was obvious: I never actually wanted one job. I just wanted to dive headfirst into new industries, solve different puzzles, and keep learning forever. So I got my Master’s in Brand Strategy and became a strategist.
I’ve always been someone who loves learning as much as humanly possible about people and the world. For as long as I can remember, I jumped into everything I could, from sports teams to student council. I’ve also always been extremely curious. (Good thing I’m not a cat, or I’d be dead.) My Google search history is a chaotic mix of questions such as: “Why don’t all ducks fly south for the winter?” and “Where’s the highest per capita consumption of Jell-O?” I used to say if being a full-time student paid a salary, I’d be one forever. And with a career in strategy, I’m essentially a student for life.
Today, along with being a strategist, I proudly hold the titles of wife, mom, runner, yogi, Diet Coke addict, trivia teammate, mini golf enthusiast, 1x battle Tetris champion, fun fact fan, and reigning Yahtzee streak winner.
